Foul play not suspected in Sandwich camp death

SANDWICH – Cape and Island’s District Attorney Michael O’Keefe and Sandwich Police Chief Peter Wack announced today they are investigating an unattended death that occurred at Camp Burgess Wednesday.

On Wednesday morning, Sandwich Police and Fire were called to the camp when 18-year-old Neal J. Tompkins, who was a camp counselor, was found unresponsive in his bunk.

Preliminary investigation suggests no signs of foul play. The matter remains under investigation pending the autopsy report from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
