Updated: Four teens seriously injured in Falmouth crash

fa032916aFALMOUTH – Falmouth Police report that at about 9:03 p.m. on Monday, they were called to Blacksmith Shop Road near the Yard Waste & Composting Site (#555) for a single-vehicle crash. Officers discovered a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that had left the road and struck a tree.

Three of the four occupants were still in the vehicle and had to be extracted by Falmouth Fire & Rescue. None of the occupants had life-threatening injuries, nonetheless three of the four were taken to Falmouth Hospital and later transferred to Boston area hospitals due to the seriousness of their injuries.

The driver and the occupants (ages 16 to 19) were all from Falmouth. The operator, Samantha McDonnell, 18, was cited for speeding, marked lanes violation, and other related offenses.

The crash investigation, as well as the discovery of marijuana in the vehicle remains under investigation.
