BARNSTABLE – At about 12:45 p.m. on Friday, Barnatable Fire was dispatched to Cape Abilities at 898 Mary Dunn Road for several people not feeling well. Ten people were evaluated at the scene with one being transported to Cape Cod Hospital. Barnstable Fire used meters to check the building but could not find any obvious cause. National Grid and the town’s health department were called to the scene. Officials reportedly suspect that cleaning chemicals may have been the cause of the nauseating fumes. The building was ventilated and all people were then allowed back in.
Hyannis and Yarmouth Fire Departments responded with additional ambulances.
