Garage gutted by fire in Marstons Mills

– Fire broke out in an attached garage in Marstons Mills about 4 PM. The initial report was a motorcycle was on fire at 68 Tupelo Road. When crews arrived the garage was fully involved. Upon arrival A working fire was requested Bringing Cotuit and Sandwich fire fighters to the scene and W Barnstable, Barnstable and Hyannis to cover their stations.All occupants were able to get out of the house safely. The fire was quickly brought under control with no extension found. The cause of the fire is under investigation by COMM Fire Dept. 

COMM Fire statement: At 4:03 PM, COMM FD received a call for a motorcycle on fire inside a garage fire. Engine 303 arrived on location to find a 2 1/2 story woodframed residential structure with heavy fire coming from a two bay garage. A working fire was requested. C-321 arrived on location and assumed command. Car 301, Car 302, Car 329, Engine 306, Engine 304 and Ladder Truck 307 responded to the scene. Cotuit FD Engine 265 and Sandwich Ambulance 457 responded and assisted at the scene. Hyannis FD, West Barnstable FD, and Barnstable FD covered the three COMM fire stations during the incident. Car 329 investigated the origin and cause. The majority of the damage was to the interior and exterior of the garage with some smoke damage to the bedroom above. No injuries occurred during the fire. The cause of the fire is listed as undetermined.
