Gas main replacement in Hyannis to cause traffic delays, detours

HYANNIS – National Grid and NEUCO have begun a gas main replacement project in downtown Hyannis.

Improvements include marking of underground utilities, excavation of the street, and installation of a new gas main.

Work will be ongoing, weather permitting. Gas main infrastructure upgrade work will occur in the area of 93-420 South Street; 70-110 High School Road; 10-50 ocean Street; 500 Old Colony Road, Hyannis.

Work began on November 30 and is expected to continue through June, 2017. Operations will start promptly at 7:00 AM and run until 4:30 PM Monday through Saturday. 

Motorists are urged to slow down and use extreme caution when traveling through the construction areas and follow posted safety signs.
