UPDATED: Gusty winds causing power problems on outer Cape Wednesday evening into Thursday morning

PROVINCETOWN – Gusty winds were causing power lines to slap together and arc. It’s happening in the same area on Bradford Street as Tuesday morning. Bradford Street was closed between Court Street and Shankpainter Road. Eversource crews were responding to make repairs. Power had flickered a couple of times but no outages were reported in town.

WELLFLEET – A power line came down on Route 6 near the Wellfleet town line. Sparks from the wire caused a small brush fire. Traffic on Route 6 was being detoured onto Old Truro Road. Eversource had to cut power to about 500 customers to make repairs.

Around 6 AM Thursday another power line came down in the far west end of Provincetown. The incident happened on Bradford Street near School Street prompting the closure of that section of road for a couple of hours. 1,363 Eversource customers lost power and heat because of the issue.
