Two-car crash in Harwich

HARWICH – At approximately 5:15 p.m. Friday, Harwich Police and Harwich Fire-Rescue were dispatched to Route 124 (Pleasant Lake Ave.) in front of the Mobil Gas/Dunkin Donuts–in almost the exact same location as a crash yesterday morning–for a 2-car motor vehicle crash with air bag deployment and possible injury. Upon arrival at the scene, rescuers found that a Honda Odyssey Van with extensive front end damage had apparently collided with the rear side of a pickup utility-body work truck.

All parties had self extricated and were reporting no injuries. Harwich medics evaluated a total of 6 patients including some children, all of whom refused medical treatment and transport. Firefighters handled a fluid spill from the Honda and ensured it was made safe. The work truck received minor damage, however the Honda had to be towed and a large debris field cleaned up.

Harwich Police restricted travel around the scene using one alternating lane of traffic until the road could be fully reopened. Normally busy Friday evening resumed through the area about 5:45 p.m. Harwich Police are in charge of the investigation.
