Harwich Police discover Marijuana grow farm at house fire scene

HARWICH
– On Tuesday, The Harwich Fire and Police Department’s were dispatched to a house fire at 20 Freshwater Road East Harwich. (see original story here). The cause of the fire appeared to be from the marijuana grow operation within the dwelling. As a result of that call, The Harwich Police executed a search warrant for the dwelling after observing a large number of marijuana plants in plain view.

As a result of the search warrant, Police seized two firearms, one of which had been previously stolen out of state, ammunition, $4,200.00 in cash, approximately six pounds in packaged marijuana and numerous cell phones. Police seized a grow operation containing over seventy marijuana plants from within the dwelling. This is an ongoing investigation by The Harwich Police Department with criminal charges anticipated.  If anyone has further information, please contact The Harwich Police Department Detectives.|
