VIDEO: HazMat crews called to Dennis motel after suspicious powder discovered and 1 transported

DENNIS PORT
– Around 9 AM Saturday Officer William Sullivan was on a stationary traffic post in the old Benny’s parking lot when a young person approached him reporting he needed help for a friend who was unresponsive across the street at the Jonathon Edwards Motel on Route 28. Upon seeing the victim Officer Sullivan called for the Dennis Fire and Rescue. Also in the room was a powdery substance scattered about. Dennis Fire Captain Tony Kent immediately called for a Hazmat response fearing the powder may be the deadly drug fentanyl. After a serious of on scene tests it was determined not to be the drug. The young man taken to Cape Cod Hospital was in serious condition, with no further update available.
