Heat gun blamed for small fire in Centerville

CENTERVILLE – From COMM Fire: “Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills (COMM) fire received a call for smoke in a basement and possible fire inside a wall at 28 Weaver Road shortly before noon. Car 321 arrived on location to find a 2 story residential house with no smoke or fire coming from the residence. Car 321 assumed command of the scene and spoke with the reporting party. Individual stated he was using a heat gun at the corner of an exterior door and noticed smoke in the basement and smoke coming out of the door frame. The individual used a garden hose to extinguish the fire inside the wall. COMM FD Truck 307 and Engine 304 arrived on location and checked for fire extension in the interior wall and the area around the door frame. No extension was found. Basement was cleared of smoke. Cause of the fire was accidental.”
