WEST DENNIS – Heavy rains Wednesday morning caused street flooding in many parts of the Cape. The scene shown here was near the intersection of Route 134 and Route 28 in West Dennis around 10:30 a.m.
HARWICH -Severe thunderstorms passing through Harwich left many roads with deep water and vehicles stuck in low drainage areas. Above: A Harwich police cruiser blocks Depot Road near Great Western Road where the car on the right became disable after trying to make it through two feet of water.
The squall line that caused the flooding briefly prompted a tornado warning for Barnstable County and dumped up two 2 and 3/4 inches of rain. No damage has been reported. A new line of storms may form this afternoon to the west and move our way.
