– On Friday, the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office contacted the Hyannis Fire Department regarding a “large fireworks” purchase in the thousands of dollars. The unidentified females were reportedly planning on transporting the fireworks back to Hyannis. The females were driving a rented cargo van. The Barnstable Police Department was notified. A follow-up investigation was conducted and the make, model, and vehicle registration were identified.

Area police departments were notified regarding the cargo van. At approximately 7:00 p.m., members of the Massachusetts State Police located the cargo van traveling east bound on Route 6 between exit 4 and 5. The vehicle was stopped and the operator was identified as Kayla F. Majors, 24, of Marstons Mills. The passenger in the van was also identified and is a 24-year-old resident of Hyannis. The van contained a large amount of fireworks with an estimated value in excess of $7,000 dollars.

The fireworks were seized, transported back to the Barnstable Police Department, and secured. Majors will receive a court summons for illegal possession of firework for Barnstable District Court.
