HYANNIS
– Hyannis Fire Department Deputy Chief Dean Melanson retired today after more than 34 years on the job.

In his own words to members of the department, Deputy Chief Melanson said: “Working for the Hyannis Fire Department has been the best experience of my life. This job is awesome because of all of you, the current and past memebers of the Department, who work tirelessly every day to provide service and care to everyone in Hyannis. It is because of your hard work that the Hyannis Fire Department is such a well-respected and professional department… During my thirty-four years, I believe we have worked very hard to continue those efforts producing a modern, strong and professional department. There is still much work to be done and I know that all of you are the right people to continue this work. You will continue to provide a strong foundation for the future of this Department and will continue to take it to great places, of this, I am sure.”
