HYANNIS – Hyannis firefighters have been on scene today at a propane tank leak in the area of Airport Road.

Reports from the scene indicate the 1,000 gallon tank has at least 600 gallons when the leak was detected.

Water is being put on the tank in an effort to avoid any explosions. Firefighters called for Amerigas to the scene and a decision was made to burn off the leaking product (video below)

There was no initial word on what caused the leak and there have been no reported injuries.
