BOURNE – On Tuesday at 12:30 PM, Bourne Fire department along with the Joint Base Cape Cod Fire department, State PD and Bourne Police responded to the woods between Route 28 and the Base wind turbine for an injured bicyclist. The bicyclist had injuries that were not life-threatening, however he needed to be carried out over rough terrain including icy, steep hills and thick brush. The injured bicyclist was located 1/4 to 1/2 miles through the woods from a main road. The bicyclist was located by Joint Base Firefighters and extricated on a stokes using six firefighters from Bourne and Joint Base Cape Cod Fire Departments. Bourne Firefighters transported the victim to Falmouth Hospital.
