Inmates give Hyannis library grounds a pre-Labor Day sprucing up

Barnstable County Sheriff’s inmates Carlos Gomes (left) and Trenard Jackson spruce up the grounds of the Hyannis Public Library on Main Street, the village’s busiest commercial thoroughfare. Built in 1908 and expanded some years later, the village is one of Hyannis’s most historic locations. The inmate crew, five in all, were scheduled to do the landscaping earlier in the summer but got rained out. Four members of the Garden Club of Hyannis helped out as well.
