Juvenile in Sandwich crash on July 10th passes away

SANDWICH – Sandwich Police report that a juvenile involved in a crash on July 10th has passed away. No other details were released.

Previous story: The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a single vehicle accident resulting in serious injuries.

The Sandwich Police Department responded to Farmersville Road and Cotuit Road for a report of a single motor vehicle crash at approximately 12:52 AM. A blue Kia Sorrento ran off the road and into a tree. Upon police arrival, the driver, a 40 year old female from Cotuit, as well as two juveniles, were trapped inside the vehicle. The Sandwich Fire Department also responded. The female driver was transported to South Shore Hospital with injuries that were serious, but not life threatening. One juvenile was taken by MedFlight to Mass General and was in critical condition. The second juvenile was taken to Hasbro Children’s Hospital with injuries that were serious, but not life-threatening. CIO Wallace from the Barnstable County Sherriff’s Department responded and processed the scene. Accident Reconstructionist Officer Grigorenko and Officer Leslie processed the scene.

At this time, the accident is currently under investigation by Officer Kent.
