EASTHAM – Water main installation work along Route 6 in Eastham will begin on Monday October 5th. The first work zone will start at the Wellfleet town line and end at the North Nauset Road intersection with Route 6. Work is anticipated to begin on the Southern section of Route 6 (from the Visitor Center to the Orleans town line) on Monday October 19th. During working hours (Monday-Saturday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m., one travel lane will be open to the northbound and southbound traffic two lanes will be closed for construction. During non-working hours, three lanes will be open to traffic; one northbound lane and two southbound lanes. Police sky motorists to proceed with caution when approaching and traveling through the work zones. Police officers will be on hand to assist traffic through the zones.
