Lightning strike sparks house fire in Eastham

EASTHAM – A lightning bolt struck the chimney of a home in Eastham shattering the chimney and sparking a fire in a wall of the home.

Firefighters from Orleans and Wellfleet joined Eastham in responding to 20 Stone Court around 7:15 p.m. Crews were able to quickly knock down the fire in the wall and check for any further extension.

No injuries were reported. Other towns covered area fire stations.
