YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department is pleased to announce the annual National Night Out event at Simpkins Field in South Yarmouth on Tuesday, August 1st.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods a safer, better place to live. Together, we are making that happen.
The event wil include demonstrations from the K-9 unit and SWAT Team. The Yarmouth Fire Department and Department of Natural Resources will be on hand to show off equipment and answer any safety questions you may have. Our partner agency, Children’s Cove, will also be on site to answer any questions about child safety.
National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community and provides a great opportunity to bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances.
Additional activities will include free face painting, free pizza (while supplies last) graduation ceremony for the Youth Police Academy and much more.
Over 16,000 communities throughout the world will participate in this ongoing effort to prevent crime. We hope to see you there!
MASHPEE – On August 2, 2016 the Mashpee Police Department held its first annual National Night Out here at the Mashpee Police Department. As I reflect on that event and how successful I thought it was, I am extremely excited for this year’s upcoming event which will be held on Tuesday August 1, 2017 at the Mashpee Police Department. National Night Out is designed to bring the community and the police together, to increase communication, build trust and strengthen relationships. It allows citizens and police officers to interact in a friendly family environment. We are anticipating an outstanding turnout and we have numerous vendors and volunteers on board this year looking to make this a truly special event.
Please join us and bring the family. We will be having raffle prize giveaways, live music, “dunk a cop” in the dunk tank, police and fire vehicles on display and vehicles and representatives from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department and the United States Military. Many participating agencies and businesses will be on hand to provide information regarding outreach and support in many different areas and venues in the community.
I look forward to seeing everyone there and look forward to making this event our biggest and most successful to date.

FALMOUTH – Join us for National Night Out on Tue 6p-8p. Station tours, face painting, “Dunk-a-Cop”, K-9 demo, equip displays, & free food. The Falmouth Police Dept. is hosting National Night Out (nationwide community crime watch event) on August 1, 2017 between the hours of 6pm-8pm at Falmouth Police Headquarters. All of Falmouth’s Crime Watch groups as well as the general citizenry are welcome to attend. Among other things, the event will include tours of the police station, activities for children including face painting, and a “Dunk-a-Cop” dunk tank. Also, there will be a K-9 demonstration and displays of equipment. There will be representatives from the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Dept, Falmouth Fire Dept., Falmouth Department of Public Works, Children’s Cove, Falmouth Prevention Partnership, Gosnold of Cape Cod, and the Falmouth Senior Center. Furthermore, there will be free food, refreshments, and ice cream served for those in attendance.
