Man accused of selling fentanyl in drug addiction treatment center parking lot

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Friday at approximately 5:00 AM, Detectives and Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) officers arrested a convicted felon dealing the deadly drug fentanyl in the parking lot of the Cape Cod Treatment Center located at 34A Workshop Road which is just behind the Mobil Gas Station on Station Avenue in South Yarmouth.

Police Officers observed a drug transaction in the Treatment Center parking lot and then encountered the buyer in the Stop and Shop parking lot across the street as he was in the process of shooting up the drug.

The man admitted to what had just occurred and advised the Police Officers that he buys the drugs in the Cape Cod Treatment Center parking lot every other morning—uses the drugs—then returns to Treatment Center to obtain his daily methadone.

Yarmouth Police Officers also encountered the suspect, identified as Richard C. Cincotta, 64, of Yarmouth Port, in the parking lot of the Cape Cod Treatment Center and seized several packets of fentanyl.

Yarmouth Police Officers traveled to Cincotta’s—located at 334 Route 6A near the Yarmouth Fire Department—where a search was conducted and additional drugs seized as well as $2,000.00 in US currency.

Concotta was charged with possession with intent to distribute a Class B substance (fentanyl)(subsequent offense), distributing a Class B substance (fentanyl), and conspiracy to violate the controlled substance act. He was transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters for booking and then transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.

One of the charges he is facing is a subsequent offense stemming from a past conviction for the same offense based on a previous Yarmouth Police Department court conviction involving the same suspect and residence.

The Yarmouth Police Department has notified the Yarmouth Board of Health and the State Agency involved with licensing treatment facilities of this incident and arrest.
