Man accused of slashing another man in the face outside Falmouth bar

FALMOUTH – Falmouth Police report they responded to the report of an assault involving a knife outside The Falmouth Raw Bar on Scranton Avenue around 11:30 p.m. Saturday night.

Police say that when officers arrived, the male suspect, Brendan J. Medeiros, 35, of East Falmouth, was being restrained on the ground by friends of the male victim. The friends of the victim were able to wrestle the knife away from Medeiros before police arrived.

The victim, a 37-year-old East Falmouth resident, was transported by the Falmouth Fire Rescue Department to the Falmouth Hospital Emergency Room for a non-life threatening laceration to his chin and left cheek. He was to be released after treatment for those injuries.

Medeiros is currently being held on $5,000.00 bail for multiple felony charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and mayhem. This incident remains under investigation by the Falmouth Police Department.
