Man allegedly found passed out with heroin at Tisbury Town Hall

TISBURY – Tisbury Police report that they have arrested a Vineyard Haven man who was in possession of a substance believed to be heroin and other prescription drugs. Officers received a report of a man who was passed out inside the Town Hall building. A Tisbury Police Officer was in the area and responded to the call. When the Officer made contact with the man (later identified as Mr. Adam Robinson), the Officer observed that Mr. Robinson appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance. The Officer made the determination to place Mr. Robinson into Protective Custody for his safety. As another Officer arrived, Mr. Robinson attempted to flee from the initial Officer. Both Officers attempted to restrain Mr. Robinson as he resisted being placed into custody. Mr. Robinson suffered minor injuries during the altercation. Neither Officer was injured. After Mr. Robinson was handcuffed, one Officer observed a plastic bag in Mr. Robinson’s hand. The plastic bag contained several individual small plastic bags containing what is believed to be heroin in powder form (estimated at just over 22 grams) along with several individually packaged prescription pills.

Mr. Robinson was subsequently arrested and charged with resisting arrest, disorderly conduct, trafficking in a Class A substance (heroin), possession of a Class C substance and possession of a Class C substance.
