Man arrested for doing 61 in a 30, suspended license, failing to stop

parrisrobertpYARMOUTH – On Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 8:41 a.m., Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officer Albert Sprague observed a vehicle traveling 61 miles per hour in a posted 45-mph zone on Forest Road in South Yarmouth. The vehicle did not stop and continued to speed into a nearby 30-mph residential area. The vehicle was pursued for 1/2 mile and eventually came to a stop in the operator’s driveway.

The operator, 33-year-old Robert P. Parris of West Yarmouth, is well known to police. Parris was found to have a suspended license and subsequently placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. He was booked on charges of operating after license suspended, failing to stop for police, operating negligently to endanger, speeding and MV not meeting safety standards. He was subsequently transported to the Barnstable District Court for arraignment.
