Man arrested for domestic violence in Yarmouth, 29 firearms seized

YARMOUTH – From Yarmouth Police: On Thursday, August 30, 2018 at 7 PM, Yarmouth Police Officers responded to a home in Yarmouth for a report of domestic violence.

Police Officers arrived and found an adult man intoxicated and determined that he had assaulted his adult daughter.

Police Officers placed him under arrest and transported him to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

Police Officers seized 29 assorted rifles, handguns, and ammunition from the home.

One handgun was found loaded and unsecured.

The man’s License to Carry was seized and suspended.

The man is scheduled to be arraigned in the Barnstable District Court today.

The man is charged with:
Assault and battery, unsecured firearm.

Because of a change in the Domestic Violence Law in 2014, Law Enforcement is not allowed to identify the person arrested.

The Yarmouth Police Department responds to hundreds of Domestic Violence related issues each year and makes many arrests.
