Man Arrested For Possession Of Psychedelic Mushrooms With Intent To Distribute In Barnstable

BARNSTABLE – Saturday afternoon, a man was arrested for possession of psychedelic mushrooms with the intent to distribute following a motor vehicle stop on Route 6 in Barnstable.

At about 3:10 p.m., Trooper Edward Alldredge observed a gray Toyota traveling on Route 6 Eastbound. Trooper Alldredge ran a computer check on the registration and learned that the registered owner had an active warrant out of Brockton. He stopped the Toyota on Route 6. The operator was identified as Christopher Chmielewski, the registered owner.

Chmielewski was placed under arrest for the warrant. During an inventory of his motor vehicle, the trooper located almost 2 ounces of a substance believed to be psychedelic mushrooms.

Chmielewski was booked at the State Police barracks in Yarmouth for possession of psychedelic mushrooms with the intent to distribute and the warrant out of Brockton Court. He was released on personal recognizance
