HYANNIS – A man suffered a serious head injury in an apparent assault in Hyannis. Barnstable Police and Hyannis rescue rushed to 273 Winter Street around 11:20 p.m. Friday evening. The victim was reportedly struck with a baseball bat. He was rushed to Cape Cod Hospital. The District Attorney’s office says 23-year-old Kenneth McGay was arrested on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon. A baseball bat and what appeared to be a sword were removed from the scene by investigators. The incident remains under investigation by Barnstable Police and State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Offices.
