Man drowns at Coast Guard Beach in Eastham

EASTHAM – On Sunday at approximately 4:15 PM, the Eastham Fire Department received a 911 call reporting a person pulled from the water with CPR in progress at Coast Guard Beach.

Upon arrival, a 70 year old male was found unresponsive and in the water. Together with the Cape Cod National Seashore Lifeguards, National Park Rangers, Eastham Police, Eastham Fire Department paramedics and EMTs continued CPR and rendered advanced medical care.

The patient was transported to Cape Cod Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
