Man overdoses with infant in carriage

YARMOUTH – From Yarmouth Police: “On Monday, August 20, 2018 at 4:13 PM, members of the Yarmouth Police and Fire Departments responded to a report of a person passed out face down on the ground with an infant crying in a nearby baby carriage on Coolidge Road in West Yarmouth.

Police and Firefighters arrived and the man became conscious after suffering an apparent drug overdose while pushing the carriage with an infant in it.

The man was identified and refused help and declined medical treatment.

The man was placed in Protective Custody by Yarmouth Police Officers and transported to Cape Cod Hospital by Yarmouth Fire Department ambulance.

The mother of the infant was notified, the infant taken care of, and Yarmouth Police Officers filed an emergency 51A report with the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families.
