Updated: Man arrested for A&B with a dangerous weapon in Mashpee

MASHPEE – Mashpee Police report that officers responded to the area of Route 151 and Frank Hicks Drive around 3 a.m. for the report of a victim who had been stabbed and thrown from a vehicle. Upon arrival officers made contact with a male subject who had been allegedly beaten and stabbed with a blunt object. Initially the victim refused treatment and was not transported. Later, however, he was transported for evaluation to Falmouth Hospital. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening.

The subsequent investigation revealed that the victim and suspect were known to each other and a probable location of the 21-year-old suspect was identified. The suspect was subsequently taken into custody by the Falmouth Police Department at a location in Falmouth. The suspect is currently being held at the Mashpee Police Department on $1000.00 bail. He has been charged with Misdemeanor Assault on Family/Household member and Felony Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon.

Mashpee Police state that due to the nature of the charge there is very little information that can be provided in this case. There does not appear to be a threat to public safety and again, the victim and suspect in this case were known to each other.
