Man rescued from overturned boat off Yarmouth to thank emergency responders

YARMOUTH –  The Medford man rescued from an overturned boat several miles off Yarmouth last week will meet with first responders this week to thank them for their efforts.

Arthur Moscufo was out testing a boat in the Bass River when it overturned and drifted into Nantucket Sound.

Crews from the Coast and several towns searched for 13 hours before he was located clinging to the overturned boat.

Moscufo is expected to attend and already planned media day at Yarmouth Police headquarters on Wednesday morning.

Moscufo has been released from Cape Cod Hospital, and his girlfriend, sister, and mother will be present to thank his rescuers who will also be present from the various agencies involved and answer questions from the media for a few minutes at the beginning of the meeting.

It was his girlfriend who reported him missing late on Monday, prompting the extensive search that eventually led to his discovery.
