CHATHAM – A man was seriously injured in a diving accident in Chatham.
Rescuers were called to the remote North Beach Island area around 6:30 p.m. where the victim reportedly suffered a spinal injury while diving into the surf.
A Chatham harbormaster’s vessel was used to reach the island.
The victim was brought to the Chatham Municipal Airport to meet a MedFlight helicopter for transport to a Tufts Medical Center in Boston.
Further details were not immediately available.
