Man wanted in Newport News, VA allegedly caught stealing in Yarmouth

YARMOUTHFrom Yarmouth Police: On Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at approximately 6:30 PM, Yarmouth Police Department Patrol Officers Erik Journet, Matthew Sheehan, Ryan Murphy, and Gordon Gibbons were dispatched to the area of Beachwood Road in South
Yarmouth regarding the report of a breaking and entering in progress to a motor vehicle.

The suspect was described as a white male over the age of 20, wearing a grey cut off shirt, with shorts, no shoes, and sunglasses. The reporting party who observed the suspect committing the crime, further advised the YPD
Dispatch Center that the suspect made threats stating that he would “be back for him.”

Upon arrival, Officers met with the reporting party and fanned out to search for the suspect.

A few minutes later, Patrol Officers Journet and Sheehan spotted a man matching the description walking on nearby Cuttyhunk Lane.

The victim of the crime was brought to the scene and positively identified the suspect.

The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

It was subsequently determined that the suspect was wanted in Newport News Virginia for probation violations.

The following items were seized as evidence from the suspect:

• Black Garmin GPS (newer model)
• Garmin Phone Charger
• Red I Home headphones
• Grey Griffin Auxiliary Cord
• White iPhone cable
• Black Maui Jim Sunglasses

At the time the arrest, the owners of the above items remain unknown.

Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit Officer Brain Skinner arrived and provided crime scene and evidence collection services.

The suspect, identified as Justin Parker Adam, 31, of Newport News, VA was charged breaking and entering a motor vehicle with intent to commit a felony, larceny, intimidating a witness, and fugitive from justice. Adam was held overnight at Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters and transported to the Barnstable District Court Wednesday morning for arraignment and extradition processing.
