UPDATED: Man who opened fire on Plymouth Police shot and injured

PLYMOUTH – A man who allegedly opened fire on Plymouth Police Thursday night was shot by officers and is recovering at a Boston hospital.

Police responded to a reported domestic abuse case on Federal Furnace Road around 6 p.m. after the alleged victim called for help.

On arrival, the suspect, who has not been identified, fired a weapon in the direction of the officers.

He was struck when officers returned fire.

Several officers who responded were treated at the hospital as well. None were shot.
