MassDOT Schedules Roadway Reconstruction Project on Route 28/ Main Street in Dennis

DENNIS – From MassDOT: “The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) has announced that it will be conducting roadway reconstruction and related work along a one-mile section  of Route 28 / Main Street in Dennis beginning on Tuesday, September 4, 2018 and continuing through the fall of 2020.

The roadway reconstruction work is scheduled to occur Monday through Friday, weather permitting, as follows:

  • September 4 – October 5, 2018 – The work will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
  • October 9, 2018 – Beginning after the Columbus Day holiday, the work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Work will consist of pavement rehabilitation from Dennis Commons to Upper County Road and includes installation of drainage, hot mix asphalt pavement, sidewalks,  concrete driveways, brick walks, rapid flashing beacons, pavement markings, signs, tree and shrub trimming, and tree protection.

Police details will be utilized to facilitate traffic management through the implementation of temporary Traffic Control Plans, including lane closures with alternating, one-way traffic.

MassDOT encourages drivers to reduce speed, allow for extra time, and use caution.
