MassDOT to conduct road work on Route 28 in Falmouth over the next month

FALMOUTH – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation will be conducting work in Falmouth on Route 28, from approximately Mile Marker 50.9 to Mile Marker 55.8, beginning Monday.

The work to be done consists of:

  • Removal of selective dead trees, downed trees and associated clean-up operations from the recent winter storm
  • Removal of brush overgrowth along the left travel lane. Removal will be minimized to a 10-foot offset from the back of guardrail.
  • Trimming of brush overgrowth at the bridges along the right and left travel lanes. Trimming will be minimized to a10-foot wide offset from the roadway and a 50-foot long offset from the bridge.

Once the work begins, it will be conducted over 30 days, from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.Monday through Friday.

Traffic management will consist of lane closures controlled by police details.

Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency situation.
