Monday arrest activity in Wareham

WAREHAM – From Wareham Police: On Monday, September 17, at about 2:45 p.m. Officer Matthew Donovan was on patrol and found a vehicle parked on a dirt road to the rear of the Home Depot. He observed two people in the car and after a check determined that Courtney Skiffington, 29, of Wareham, had an active warrant for her arrest. She was placed in custody and transported to WPD and later to the Wareham District Court.

At about 7:00 p.m. officers were dispatched to Walmart for a shoplifter who was being uncooperative with loss prevention staff at the store. Further information was that the suspect had now fled the store in a car, however Officer Blaise Lalli was very close by and conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Aldi’s. The female suspect was reaching toward the floor of the car and refused to show her hands until ordered to do so. It was determined that she had attempted to steal hair products, and threw them towards the security officer when confronted, before fleeing the store. Darlene Ritchie-McGrath, 57, of Wareham, was placed under arrest by Officer Lalli and transported to Wareham Police Headquarters facing the charges of, shoplifting, 3rd offense.

Later at about 7:55 p.m. officers were dispatched to the area of County Road and Fearing Hill Road for a reported motor vehicle accident. Officer Lalli found a pick-up truck had struck a utility pole. Officer Joseph Cardoza and Wareham EMS now arrived on scene. The operator of the truck was transported to Tobey Hospital where he was treated and released. However, due to investigation, the operator, Anthony Lindquist, 36, of Plymouth was placed under arrest by Officer Lalli at the hospital and charged with operating under the influence and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. Mr. Lindquist loudly protested his arrest, refusing to cooperate, and Off. Cardoza had to assist with putting him in the cruiser. Mr. Lindquist claimed he was friends with police officers and state troopers during his rant. He was transported to the police station where he was booked and due to appear in Wareham District Court on Tuesday morning.

Finally, at about 8:00 p.m. Officers James White and Michael Phinney arrested

Nahkalah DeYoung, 33, of Wareham, for operating with a suspended license. The arrest was made after a motor vehicle stop on Great Neck Road.
