Nauti-Block Gang Leader Sentenced to Additional Prison Time

BARNSTABLE – A Barnstable County jury found Denzel Chisholm, 27, former head of the Nauti-Block gang in Hyannis, guilty of assault and battery on a corrections officer.

Judge Robert C. Rufo sentenced Chisholm Tuesday to 8 years and one day state prison to be served from and after the 28 1⁄2 year federal prison sentence Chisholm is currently serving for his role in the Nauti-Block drug ring.

Cape and Island District Attorney Michael O’Keefe said the charges stem from an incident that occurred on June 16, 2016 at the Barnstable House of Correction while Chisholm was being held both on murder charges in relation to the death of Christine Ferreira, and federal drug charges. During a routine check of the pod, Chisholm attacked the corrections officer, punching him in the face numerous times.

The case was investigated by the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department and the Massachusetts State Police. The case was prosecuted by Chief District Court Prosecutor Daniel Higgins, specially assigned to the Superior Court for this case.
