FALMOUTH – Falmouth Police report that what appears to be a naval flare was found by a family in East Falmouth. Due to the potential dangerous nature of the device, the Massachusetts State Police Bomb Squad was notified. The device was to be destroyed Friday afternoon in a controlled detonation at the Town Leaf Dump off Blacksmith Shop Road. The detonation was expected to take place between noon and 1:00 PM.
