HYANNIS – The Hyannis Fire Department held an Assumption of Command ceremony Monday morning. New Fire Chief Peter Burke was officially sworn in. He was most recently the Deputy Chief for the Barnstable Fire Department. Burke takes command from Deputy Chief Dean Melanson who has been serving as Acting Chief since Chief Harold Brunelle retired.
