VIDEO: Ocean effect snow cause slick roads likely leading to Chatham crash

CHATHAM
– Chatham Police say a loss of traction led to this crash Monday morning. The lone driver was reportedly unconscious when Chatham Police arrived on scene.   Chatham Fire and Rescue rushed the victim to Cape Cod Hospital with unknown injuries.  The crash happened on Main Street (Route 28) at Meetinghouse Road. Road crews are out treating the streets.

The National Weather Service issued a statement regarding ocean effect snow on the outer Cape: Snow will make for slippery travel on the outer Cape this morning.

Ocean effect snow showers were impacting the outer Cape this morning, including Provincetown, Wellfleet, Orleans and Chatham. While the snow is light, very cold temperatures will result in roads becoming snow covered and slippery. Up to an inch accumulation is possible over the outer Cape this morning before the snow moves offshore this afternoon.

Motorists should exercise caution this morning.
