One arrested, cocaine seized during drug search warrant in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – Falmouth Police report that a search warrant executed early Friday morning led to the arrest of an East Falmouth man and the seizure of cocaine and cash.

The search occurred at about 9 AM on Friday at 18 Clark Street in East Falmouth.

The search warrant stemmed from a joint drug investigation by Falmouth Police, Mashpee Police, and the Cape Cod Drug Task Force. The investigation included several controlled purchases of drugs, which exposed a drug distribution operation on Clark Street.

While making entry, the detectives encountered two doors. A metal exterior door and a wood interior door. The wood interior door was further fortified with five locks and braced with a 2×4 board.       

Investigators searched the property, located, and seized 14 grams of cocaine valued at about $2,000, along with $920 in cash. Also seized was material used to package illegal drugs, including digital scales and sandwich bags.

Brian L. Costa, 23 of East Falmouth was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine. His arrest took place at the Falmouth District Court, where he was attending a pre-trail hearing for drug-related offenses that were the result of a previous search warrant executed in Mashpee on February 23rd.

Costa is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday at Falmouth District Court.
