HARWICH – Shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday, Harwich Police and Harwich Fire-Rescue personnel responded to Route 137 near Auston Road at the entrance to Dunkin Donuts for a reported two-car crash with injury.
Upon arrival, rescuers found a Toyota sedan and Volvo station wagon, both with significant damage and air bag deployment.
The driver of one of the vehicles was treated by paramedics at the scene for and transported to Cape Cod Hospital.
The driver of the other vehicle self-extricated and was walking around the scene when authorities arrived. He was evaluated by medics and refused transport.
Traffic on Route 137 was reduced to one alternating lane while the scene was worked and the vehicles removed.
The Harwich Police Department is investigating.
