DENNIS PORT
– Around 7:15 a.m. Tuesday a heating and cooling contractor’s box truck collided with a Toyota sedan at the intersection of Route 28 and Depot Street.

According to reports at the scene the truck was headed east on Route 28 when the car, traveling north on Depot, pulled out in front of it. After the crash, the car came to rest against the sidewalk and a utility pole in front of Barbo’s furniture store.

The older male driver of the Toyota was extricated by Dennis firefighters. He had suffered a head wound when his head hit the side window of the car. His female passenger was not injured. The driver of the box truck, traveling alone, was uninjured.

Route 28 was closed in the area until Silver Cloud Towing removed the vehicles.
