WELLFLEET – Wellfleet Police report that on Thursday at approximately 7:23 AM, they responded to a report of a head on motor vehicle accident on Route 6 near West Road. Upon arrival, officers observed two vehicles, a 2017 Nissan Infiniti operated by Jamie Maillard of Wellfleet, MA and a 2015 Chevrolet Van operated by Gregory Carlo of Harwich, MA, involved in the accident. The Wellfleet and Eastham Fire departments arrived on location and began treating victims. One victim was transported to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Route 6 remained closed for about 90 minutes while traffic was detoured around the accident scene.
The cause of the accident is unknown at this time and is currently under investigation by the Wellfleet Police Department.
