UPDATED: Two injured in Dennis crash

DENNIS – From Dennis Police: On Wednesday at approximately 5:29 PM, officers from the Dennis Police Department responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Route 28 and Sea Street, Dennis Port. One initial report from a caller on 911 was that one of the vehicles was on fire and that a passenger in one of the involved vehicles was possibly entrapped.

The crash investigation determined that a 1998 Toyota Camry, operated by a 37-year-old male resident of Dennis, was traveling eastbound on Route 28 approaching the intersection of Sea Street in Dennis Port and struck a 2009 Toyota Highlander, being operated by a 33-year-old woman from Braintree, MA. The investigation showed that the Toyota Highlander, which had been traveling south on Sea Street, failed to yield to the Toyota Camry after having stopped at a stop sign prior to entering the intersection. The operator of the Toyota Highlander was issued a motor vehicle citation for failure to use care in starting.

The operators of both vehicles, who were the sole occupants, were transported to Cape Cod Hospital for medical treatment.
