Operation Safe Ride activated for July 4th weekend

YARMOUTH – Thanks to financial donations from various businesses including Red Jacket Resorts and The Davenport Companies of South Yarmouth, the Yarmouth Restaurant Association, JJ Manning Auctioneers, the Yarmouth House, Hallett Funeral Home, and the Yarmouth Police Relief Association, Operation Safe Ride Home will be active every night this weekend from 10:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. starting at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 and ending at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, July 6th.

Anyone who needs a free and safe ride home from a Yarmouth licensed liquor establishment any night this weekend from 10:00PM to 2:00AM should call Town Taxi directly at 508.775.5555.

Drunk driving is a very serious crime with often tragic consequences. Do not drink and drive and if you need a ride home take advantage of this highly successful program which will provide citizens with a free ride home during this special Independence Day Weekend on Cape Cod.

Yarmouth Police encourage all Yarmouth and other Cape Cod drivers to look out for each other. Don’t let others drive drunk, and don’t tolerate those who do, or ride with them. Drinking and driving injures or kills a driver every day. This is why no one should drive impaired or ride with anyone who is.  If you see an impaired driver call 911 and help us keep our citizens safe.

The Yarmouth Police Department and the Town of Yarmouth is continuing to transform Yarmouth into the Safest Community in the Region for everyone to visit, work, live, and raise a family.  They thank their business leaders and concerned citizens for partnering with us with financial support to keep this successful lifesaving program active throughout this special weekend.

Please be smart and be safe and best wishes to all as we safely celebrate the birth of our Country.
