ORLEANS – From Orleans Fire: “We are still catching up from the storm yesterday (09 August 2018), we responded to over 60 calls in an 8 hour period including 2 building fires, multiple lightning strikes, wires and trees down, car crashes, and medical calls, among many others. It took a lot of effort and teamwork. We are grateful to our friends in public safety from Dennis to Truro who came to help. Special thanks to Orleans Police Department and Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office Communications Center for nothing short of amazing work.”

When fire crews arrived at the first fire at 17 Overlook Circle they found heavy fire coming from a large 2 1/2 story structure.

A short time later crews were called to 87 Beach Road for a fire in a barn.
