OUI, hospital disturbance end in latest Wareham arrests

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Monday, April 8, at about 11:50 a.m. Officer Charles Pillsbury was on an off-duty detail on Main Street and was approached by an individual in a car asking for directions. Officer Pillsbury made observations of the driver and asked for an on-duty officer to respond to his location at Besse Park. Officer Joseph Cardoza arrived and after having the driver perform field sobriety tests, the man was placed under arrest. Jose Rego, 47, of New Bedford, is charged with, operating under the influence, and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

Later, at 8:35 p.m. officers responded to Tobey Hospital for a male causing a disturbance in the emergency room. Officers Cardoza and James White advised the male to calm down, however he kept yelling expletives. The man was placed under arrest and while being taken to the cruiser he went to the floor refusing to get up forcing the officers to carry him to a cruiser. After a brief struggle he was placed into the cruiser. He continued his tirade at the station where he had to be carried to a cell. Joseph Larose, 53, of Plymouth is charged with, disorderly conduct, disturbing the peace, and resisting arrest.
