OUI, vandalism highlight latest Wareham arrests

WAREHAMFrom Wareham Police: On Saturday April 27, Detective Sergeant Michael Smith was aware of a pick-up truck operating in Wareham that had a stolen license plate on it. At about 6:15 p.m. he observed the vehicle in the area of Tobey Road and Cranberry Highway. After stopping it, the operator, Daniel O’Connor III, 56, of Wareham, was advised he would be summoned to court for, operating an unregistered and uninsured motor vehicle, and receiving stolen property under $1,200.00. The truck was towed from the scene.

Later, at 10:20 p.m. Detective Sergeant Smith and Officer Kyle Gomes were on Marion Road
when they observed a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction with chunks of rubber coming off of a front tire and sparks flying. They pulled the vehicle over by Swifts Beach Road and after investigation placed the driver under arrest. Thomas Bartholomew, 42, of Marion, was charged with operating under the influence, and negligent operation of motor vehicle.

On Tuesday April 30, at 2:45 p.m., officers responded to 3160 Cranberry Highway, for a report of vandalism to an auto. At the scene Officer Zina Kelsch arrested Amelia Finnegan, 52, of East Wareham, charging her with, vandalizing property. Miss Finnegan is suspected of arming herself with a crow bar and smashing the windshield of a truck that was parked in the area. The incident is the result of an earlier dispute.
